In our AA little league after 4 balls are thrown by the pitcher the youth pitcher steps aside and the offensive coach pitches to their own batter. No walks are awarded just 3 pitches from the coach? Is it possible to track this? As of now i can not get correct pitch count for the pitcher & of course incorrect pitching stats. Hopefully I explained this correctly. I am new to scoring baseball and learning as I go. I also forgot to mention I am using iPhone edition.

I will research this, and what it would mean to the pitching statistics. If I remember my Little League rules correctly, the kid pitcher could never walk a batter, he could put the batter on by hitting him with a pitch, but not by a walk. After 4 balls, the coach comes in and pitches. This is where I become hazy. I know the batter can strike out and I don't think the batter can walk, but I don't remember if the batter continues with the strike count.
If he does, then this becomes a lot easier (from a scoring perspective). I think this is just a 'courtesy pitcher' (like a courtesy runner) - where the new pitcher inherits the count (minus the ball 4), and coach pitch balls are not recorded.
This doesn't address the issue of stats, however. I think that what happens is, the kid pitcher is reponsible for every thing that happens as the result of the coach pitcher, EXCEPT the pitch count.
WORK AROUND: I think the right thing to do as a work around is as follows - when the kid pitcher throws ball 4, make a notation in the Details | At Bat Comment section. Record all coach pitches here using (B S C or F), then score the result of the at bat (be it strike out, hit etc).
All stats will be correct except - the kid pitcher will be credited with a Strike instead of a Ball for the result of the play. The pitch count will be correct, only the strike count will be inflated and the ball count will be deflated by the number of times the coach needed to enter as the pitcher.

When the coach steps in to pitch the strike count is zero. The player receives 3 pitches more if fouled no walks.
For a work around I have been using the "other put out" option and note "CP SOS" or "CP SOL" cp = Coaches Pitch sos = Strike Out Swinging sol = Strike Out Looking And if the batter gets a hit I touch the appropiate play on screen followed by CP for coaches pitch. Example 1B 6 CP I think that keeps the pitch count correct and the hits are still charged to the pitcher I think? Not exactly sure as I am still learning.
