I've received several questions about why K-ForCE credits an atbat to the starter instead of the sub. Here is an example:
Visiting team - lead off batter 23 John RF 1 17 Bob RF 4
Bob subs for John, but Bob's atbat in the 4th inning gets credited to John. Why?
The way this sub is entered, it tells K-ForCE that Bob is subbed in the DEFENSIVE portion of the inning (the bottom of the 4th). So John is still batting in the top of the 4th.
If you intend to sub Bob in the offensive portion of the inning, sub him as a PH. Then sub for himself in the bottom of the inning.
23 John RF 1 17 Bob PH 4 17 Bob RF 4
The reverse happens (but is less often noticed) when failing to sub as PH on the home team. In this case, defensive stats get credited to the wrong player. Any time the sub comes in the offensive portion of the inning, sub as PH.
